A RESEARCH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR MARINE GEOLOGICAL SURVEY BASE ON WEBGIS

Marine geological survey is a basic approach for marine geological research and data collection. The information exchange between the research vessels and the land-based information center of Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey has remained for many years in the form of E-class paper. It is lack of efficiency. How to improve the information management system for marine geological survey is an urgent need. Through a careful review of the current information management system used in marine geological survey, we proposed in this paper a research information management system. The overall structure, the function modules, the database characteristics and the main function of the system are described. The system will provide a strong support for information management in the marine geological survey.
