Abstract
Based on the heavy metals concentration data of the surface sediments taken from 306 sites in the Jiaozhou Bay,we studied the distribution pattern of heavy metals and discussed its influencing factors. Results show that the contents of Cu、Pb、Zn、Cd、Cr、Hg and As are high near the east coast of Jiaozhou Bay and low within the Bay,and each heavy metal shows a trend of differentiation from the coast to the center of the bay. High values of Cu、Pb、Zn、Hg and Cr are also found in the north of Huangdao. Since the 1980s, the source of sediments have been changed due to intensification of human activities, which is the main influence factor of the heavy metals spatial distribution pattern in the surface sediments. In addition to the complex Marine hydrodynamic environment, sediment types and biological activities are also important for the spatial distribution of heavy metals.
