Abstract
The technology of dual-sensor merger based on the individual corresponding mechanism of hydrophones and vertical geophones can effectively suppress the reverberation in the dual-sensor OBC exploration by merging of the dual-sensor signals. However, since there are big differences in amplitude and frequency between the hydrophone and vertical geophone, it is not able to achieve a desired effect by directly merging the dual-sensor signals. There usually needs a match between the dual-sensor signals before merging. It would be ideal if the matching coefficient is a fixed value related to the reflection coefficient of sea floor. However, it is not the case. We are not able to get good results as expected from a fixed matching coefficient. In this regard, we made a deep research on the wave field propagation mechanisms in the dual-sensor OBC exploration and the matching technique. Then an adaptively time-varying matched filtering technique based on the Wiener filtering method was proposed. Satisfactory results have been obtained in practice.
