GEOHAZARD FACTORS AND THEIR IMPACT ON SUBMARINE PIPELINE SAFETY IN THE EAST CHINA SEA

    • The submarine pipeline survey results accumulated in the past years are analyzed for geohazard factors in the East China Sea and their threat to the submarine pipelines. Those factors could be divided into different types, such as human activity- induced, current scour, and geological hazard in shallow and sandy sediment. In this paper, we discussed the occurrence and mechanism of those factors with emphasis on anchor drag marks, currents scour, shallow gas and sand liquefaction, etc, so as to further understand the harzards and timely to protect the pipelines from risks.
