Abstract
The oil reservoir of the Es3 in Bin 5 block is dominated by sandstone and conglomerate. The sandstone varies rapidly in horizontal direction. Large differences occur in physical properties between layers that made the reservoir description very difficult. Since the resolution of conventional 3D surface seismic data does not allow the fine description of the sand body, we have to apply the cross-well seismic technique with high resolution ratio to improve the precision of sandbody description in this block. According to the characteristics of field data, we adopted some key processing technology, such as the high precision tomography and pre-stack depth migration based on mapping to obtain high-resolution cross-well imaging profiles. Interpretation was made for the cross-well seismic profiles to reveal the low-grade faults and the lateral reservoir connectivity between two wells. Upon the basis, we establish a better reservoir geological model to improve the precision of reservoir description.
