CATALYTIC EFFECT OF CLAY MINERALS IN HYDROCARBON GENERATION

The Catalytic reaction of clay minerals plays a key role in hydrocarbon generation. On the basis of catalytic mechanism, this paper systematically summarized the influence-factors of the catalytic reaction through analysis of the structures of clay minerals and kerogen and their relations. The results will be useful to the evaluation of the hydrocarbon source rocks.
