P-WAVE AZIMUTHAL AVO ANALYSIS AND ITS APPLICATIONS TO LH11-1 OIL FIELD FOR FRACTURE DETECTION

    • The LH11-1 oil field is the biggest offshore bioherm (biobank) oil field of China. The carbonate platform has suffered multi-phase evolution and diagenesis. The physical properties of the carbonate reservoirs change drastically in lateral direction, showing a strong heterogeneity, which is obviously controlled by fracture systems. In order to acquire more information about the development of fractures and their distribution pattern as detail as possible, the method of P-wave azimuthal AVO based on high resolution 3D seismic data are applied in the carbonate reservoirs of Liu Hua oil field to finding out the most sensitive seismic properties for fracture detection, and distribution pattern prediction.
