SUSPECTED PALEO-BEACHROCK FOUND IN THE LATE PLEISTOCENE OF ZHOUSHAN AREA

Abstract
A consolidated thin sandy conglomerate was discovered in the Pleistocene in the interval of 47.5-51.5 m of a bore hole at Dong Gang of Zhoushan area. The rock occurs in conformity with the modern beach, consisting of rounded and poorly sorted pebbles with slightly oriented fabric and high porosity, and looks similar to a beachrock. The lithology and origin of the rock is studied in this paper.
