STATUS OF LEGEND DESIGN AND COLORING IN MARINE GEOLOGICAL MAPPING IN CHINA

In order to satisfy the demand raised by economic development and ocean rights protection of the country, the study of marine geological legend and the use of color in geological mapping have made great progress in recent years in China. However, there is still space for further improvement. The legend and colors standards used for geological maps are not unified from map to map. And some of the designs or standard used previously could not keep space with scientific and technological development and thus are obviously out of date. Further study of this question remains an urgent necessity.
