1: 250 000 BASE MAP COMPILATION FOR SEA FUNCTION DIVISION OF SHANDONG PROVINCE USING REMOTE SENSING AND GIS TECHNOLOGY AS A TOOL

    • Remote sensing technology is a real-time and convenient tool with large-scale coverage for map compilation.Combined with the mapping functions of GIS, this study used remote sensing technology to compile the 1:250 000 base maps for sea function division of Shandong province. Results show that the method is not only beneficial to correctly divide the sea function areas of the province, but also effective in solving the contradictions between demands of sea territory use and environmental protection, economic development and rationale use of marine resources, and the management argument among concerned users.
