Abstract
Baiyun Sag is an important oil and gas producing area in the Pearl River Mouth Basin. The research of Baiyun Sag is mainly concentrated on the main Baiyun sub-Sag, and the research of oil and gas exploration in the western Baiyun sub-Sag is very weak. In recent years, the oil and gas exploration in the western Baiyun Sag has been intensified, and the drilling has been carried out in the hanging and foot wall of Panyu 25 Fault. In order to further explore the exploration potential of the western Baiyun Sag, the Analysis of differential accumulation between hanging and foot wall of Panyu 25 Fault is carried out to discuss the hydrocarbon accumulation rule in this area. Based on PVT sample characteristics, MDT pressure analysis, natural gas composition, carbon isotope characteristics and paleostructural analysis of accumulation period, it is concluded that Panyu 25 fault has strong segmentation, and the hanging and foot walls are two independent blocks in the key accumulation period, showing different hydrocarbon accumulation. Geochemical analysis of hydrocarbons shows that the condensate gas in the upthrown side comes from Baiyun 3 sub-sag, while the oil and gas in the downthrown side originate from the adjacent Panyu 25 sub-sag. This paper has preliminarily clarified the accumulation rule of the western Baiyun sub-sag, which is beneficial to the exploration and deployment of this area. On the one hand, the natural gas exploration should be carried out around the dominant migration path of Baiyun 3 sub-sag, and on the other hand, the crude oil exploration should be carried out around the proximate source of Panyu 25 sub-sag. At the same time, it also provides a useful reference for the research on the differential accumulation of the hanging and foot wall in other areas.
