Abstract
Natural gas hydrate, as a clean energy source in the future, has raised great attention from the human society. According to the distribution pattern of natural gas hydrate deposits in the ocean, we observed that the method of high resolution multichannel seismic technology is feasible to efficiently explore the gas hydrate. The gas hydrate occurred on a slope in the South China Sea is taken as an example. Then the status of application of this method is discussd in details. Special attention is given to the selection of parameters. Based upon the seismic profiles acquired, we discussed and evaluated the application prospect of the method.
