APPLICATION OF GABOR ALGORITHM TO FOOTPRINT ELIMINATION IN POST STACK SEISMIC DATA ACQUISITION

    • The structure CFD-A, one of the important exploration blocks in the Bohai Bay oil development zone, is located at the juncture of the Bohai Bay Basin, Bozhong depression and Sha Tian uplift. The earlier acquired 3D seismic data often shows strong acquisition footprints. Especially in the Lower Minghuazhen Formation, the lower part of the target layer, acquisition footprints and faults cut each other that seriously affects the right interpretation of the structure and fracture system, and has brought great difficulties to the exploration and production of oil field. Gabor filtering technology selects different azimuth for specific frequency filtering, and may effectively eliminate the footprints on seismic data, and solve the imaging problem of seismic data caused by footprints. The seismic data of the fault system after filtering become clearer, which may better meet the geological requirement of structural interpretation and lay a solid basis for the follow-up oilfield exploration and development work.
