COMPARATIVE STUDY ON COMPLEX RESISTIVITY MODELS FOR POROUS MEDIUM CONTAINING METHAN HYDRATE

    • Based on the complex resistivity obtained from the measured impedance spectrum of porous medium containing methane hydrate, the frequency dispersion characteristics of the complex resistivity are studied in this paper. Three commonly used complex resistivity models i.e. the Dias model, the Warburg model and the Cole-Cole model are discussed. The parameters of the three models are fitted and compared with experimental data, upon which the applicability of the models are evaluated and compared. It demonstrates that the Warburg model is the best one which fits the experimental data and can be used for studying the electrical properties of hydrate-bearing porous media further; the parameters of the Warburg model have obvious relationships with the hydrate saturation, which provides a foundation for establishing hydrate saturation models based on the complex resistivity model parameters.
