FINE DESCRIPTION OF SHALLOW RESERVOIRS IN KENDONG BEACH AREA

    • The shallow reservoirs in the beach area of east China are characterized by poor seismic acquisition conditions, low seismic data quality and drastic change in lithology. It's hard to distinguish sand and shale, and thus difficult to make reservoir description. In this paper, we took the Kendong area as an example to try to solve these problems and proposed a set of methods for reservoir fine description. Based on calibration of synthetic seismogram, we trace the records by seismic inversion and prove the interpretation by attribute extraction. Firstly, the reservoir was calibrated by comparison of the phase and energy of synthetic seismogram after environment correction with the seismic information from the nearby wells. Then seismic inversion was carried out under the constraint of logging data to achieve the lateral tracking of sandstone reservoir. Last but not least, we definite the plane distribution of the reservoir via the extraction of root mean-square amplitude attribute. Through the reservoir description mentioned above, we found that the reservoir in the IV sands group of the Guantao Formation is a banded sand body, gradually thinning out from north to south. It is a typical deposit of a meandering river.
