Abstract
Seismic technology is the main tool for revealing sedimentary characteristics of the deposits under seabed. In the South Yellow Sea, it is an urgent need to carry out the research of seismic methods for better interpretation of sedimentary characteristics of the Neogene. The methods for data purification, multiple wave suppression and high resolution lithology identification have been adopted to improve the signal-to-noise ratio and resolution. Together with velocity analysis and time-depth conversion, multi-channel seismic stack velocity data are used to ensure the accurate calculation of the buried depth of strata. Following the principles of marine geology and seismic stratigraphy, depositional facies and evaluation of sedimentary environment are defined. CSDP-1 hole is selected as the case to test the validity of the methods.
