Abstract:
Foraminifera is the most widely studied micropaleontological group in Marine environment and has important significance in Marine environment indication. In this paper, the distribution of foraminifera in surface sediments near Shandong Peninsula is described. The study area is dominated by benthic foraminifera. According to the result of factor analysis, the benthic foraminifera in the study area were divided into four assemblages. Assemblages 1 is
Verneuilinulla advena-Astrononion gallowayi-Cribrononion gnythosuturatum. Assemblages 2 is
Astrononion gallowayi-Buccella frigida-Elphidium advenum, Assemblages 3 is
Hanzawaia convexa-Buccella frigida-Cribrononion subincertum. Assemblages 4 is
Rotalinoides compressiuscula-Elphidium advenum-Ammonia ketienziensis. The environmental factors affecting foraminifera in the study area were studied, and it was found that the distribution of foraminifera was affected to some extent by sea temperature, salinity, depth, grain size, coastal current and Cold Water Mass.
