Abstract:
The 3d seismic coherence method is a new technology developed in recent years for 3d seismic interpretation, especially fracture interpretation. The application of the method is rather successful, in particular, to some special type of reservoirs and lithological associations in some areas. It may even disclose small faults. In this article, we take the Ordos Basin as a case to demonstrate the process to optimize the methods for parameter calculation and the coherent data volume calculation. Based on the analysis of coherent slices, the method and parameters, which are suitable for the study area, are concluded and presented in the paper. Using this method, faults can be described accurately, and the fracture zones be predicted indirectly.
