Abstract:
The Bellinsgauzen Sea in the west of the Antarctic Peninsula is a prospective area for gas hydrate formation in the Antarctic. In this paper, based on the existing coreing samples, seismic profiles, and acoustic wave data, the forming conditions of natural gas hydrates in the Bellinsgauzen Sea are discusseci, and gas hydrates predicted according to gas source, stability domain, structure transduction, and sedimentary accumulation. The prospecting area for mineralization is studied for exploration of the forming mechanism, in order to provide some scientific references for the investigation and research of gas hydrate in the regcon.
