Abstract:
The Mesozoic and Paleozoic marine strata in the South Yellow Sea Basin are characterized by huge thickness, large buried depth, complex structure, vertically heterogeneity of lithology, shallow high-reflection shield, and weak internal reflection of carbonate rocks. Qingdao Institute of Marine Geology, joined hands with Sinopec Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation, through continuous efforts, has developed a "HRS" assemblage (High coverage, Rich low-frequency and Strong seismic source) of seismic exploration technology, in accordance with the seismic and geological conditions of the South Yellow Sea Basin. With the technology, the authors have acquired high quality reflection data of Meso-Paleozoic marine strata and defined several large Meso-Paleozoic structural traps at the Laoshan Uplift in 2015, which provides the technical support for the breakthrough of oil and gas exploration in the South Yellow Sea Basin in the near future.
