Abstract:
The geochemical characteristics of the eclogites found on the Qianliyan Uplift, Yangkou and Haiyangsuo of the South Yellow Sea indicate that the Qianliyan eclogite rocks may be the remained oceanic crust of the paeo-Qinling Ocean, while the Haiyangsuo mafic metamorphic rocks represent the mafic lower crust of the northern margin of the Yangtze plate, and the Yangkou eclogites are the remains of the differentiated island arc basalts. Existing geophysical data from the South Yellow Sea is studied for revealing the structural characteristics and structural styles of the South Yellow Sea Basin. Upon the basis, the geological evolution of the South Yellow Sea Basin-Range couples is discussed.
